Indian Renaissance - National Identity

Image
Examine the linkages between the nineteenth century ‘Indian Renaissance’ and the emergence of "national identity" The word renaissance is known in the context of "Revival or Resurrection" of European classical art and literature. The social and religious movements used the direction of leaders as a path to the enrichment of ideas and expression of freedom. The then leaders were revered as personalities of the renaissance. The chief proponents who are considered as renaissance questioned the status quo and lead as change agents in society. In the Indian context, the period of a renaissance is spread across the ancient, medieval and modern times of history. The classification is not fully correct because for the modern period the west countries are enjoying a lot of wealth and victorian art. whereas the eastern countries and African countries are suffering in the hands of colonial masters (we still use the global accepted chronological expression for de

Why Inclusive Development - Elusive

Despite Consistent experience of High growth, India still goes with the lowest indicators of human development. Examine the issues that make balanced and inclusive development elusive The Human Development Index when it came into prominence the developing nations of Asia and Africa became more benefited and well monitored by their Governments for reaching developmental goals. The recent rank of India in terms of HDI shows poor performance in its human resources. This contradicts the Indian economic system performance by being the world's biggest economy.  In spite of global turbulence due to trade wars, Climate Change challenges, Oil crisis, Food production imbalances, Failed Monsoons, etc. India continues to shine among the top economies. This achievement does not speak in the same length when it comes to the rank of the Human Development Index. The reasons for the lowest indicators of human development are not kept secret, they need urgent improvements. Some of the

Future food security

OCEANS:  In a report “Blue Papers” commissioned by the High Level Panel for a Sustainable Ocean Economy, gave summarised scientific evidence and provide decision-makers with an overview of the challenges and opportunities for the sustainable use of ocean resources. The report key findings is that smarter management of wild marine fisheries and marine aquaculture (mariculture) could result in a six-fold increase in food production form the ocean. This would equate to more than two-thirds of the protein needed to feed a global population expected to reach almost 10 billion people in 2050. The report notes that food from the ocean plays a unique role in sustainable food security for five reasons:   ·          Climate change: - Many aqua food products from ocean have lower greenhouse gas foot prints compared with land based animal source food. ·          Feed efficiency: - When considering feed inputs the marine based foods are more efficient than land based foods. Coral Reefs-Global Warming

Image
Assess the impact of global warming on the coral life system with examples. The vast amount of planet space is occupied by large water bodies. In these water bodies called oceans, the platform for various living organisms is provided by Coral Reefs. Coral reefs is consider as rainforest of oceans. In recent time the survival of these coral reefs is greatly threatened by the global warming.                                    Due to indiscriminate act of development there is outcome of rise in temperature in planet along with growth of income. These rising temperatures led to the imbalances of the natural systems. Ocean ecosystem is also not excluded from such negative effects of imbalances. As temperature rise, the coral bleaching, infectious disease outbreak becoming prevalent. Impact of Global warming on corals Coral Bleaching:-   Corals are symbiotic association of coral polyp and zooaxanthalle algae. These coral thrive in normal ocean temperature and harb
