Public Servant Role
Public servant is an individual but carries out the activities as Government official. Their primary duty is to provide services to the people, work in the welfare of people and redress the grievances of public. A public servant provide services in the form of administration and protection.
Characters of public servant
Selflesness: The public servant is expected to keep the welfare of the society above his/her personal motives.Empathetic: The public servant must understand the feelings and emotions of the public for creating a positive impact through his actions.
Moral Integrity: The holders of public servant should have high moral ground while exercising their duty.
Expected duties of Public Servant
Official Duties
Administration: The public office should be utilised for the larger welfare of the society or citizens while performing the administrative functions.
Protection: The protection of individual rights is important function need to be taken by public servant. The protection of life and property is given to state. The Public servant is representative of the state and holds the position to safeguard such rights.
Services: The public servant also provide various services in creating and maintenance of properties like roads,dams,infrastructure,libraries etc.
Moral Duties
Inspirational: The public servant must act as role model who can inspires the individuals in doing good for the society throught their acts.
Mediation: A public servant should act as perfect mediator in resolving the disputies. He can be cosnider as neutral entity while solving the problem.
Conclusion:
A public servant is one person who is qualified and trained for the welfare of the society and he may be restricted to job role but given wide range of influence and power for the changing the lives of individual.
